Celebrate Copyright Awareness Week with a Tour of the USCO

The U.S. Copyright Office is participating in Copyright Awareness Week, March 6-10, 2006, during the entire month of March by inviting students and teachers to meet with copyright specialists to learn about copyright as both users and creators. The Office offers onsite tours, including a mini-workshop on registering a claim to copyright, and will meet with students remotely via video conference. To learn more, call the Copyright Information Section at 202-707-0600 or pmva@loc.gov.

Copyright Awareness Week was conceived by the Copyright Society of the U.S.A as a means to create a greater understanding among the youth of America about what copyright is and the role it plays in the advancement of the arts and our economy. Copyright Awareness Week is an educational, nonpartisan event, intended to bring copyright creators and users together to educate the public about basic copyright law and its underlying purpose.
