U.S. Intellectual Property Lawsuits on the Rise

According to the Intellectual Property Owners' Association, the number of patent suits filed in U.S. district courts rose 79 percent between 1995 and 2004. Over the same period, the number of copyright and trademark suits roses 29 and 24 percent, respectively.
