EU Software Directive Fight Moves to Member Parliaments
According to the folks at the Foundation for a Free Information Infrastructure (and others), the Dutch Parliament adopted a motion on February 11, 2005requesting its government to prevent the software patents directive from appearing as an A-item on the Council agenda (i.e., a formal point without discussion) before the Commission has answered the European Parliament's request to restart the directive.
According to the IPJur blog, the lower house of the German Parliament ("Bundestag") will have a pleanary vote on a multi-partisan Draft resolution on the patentability of computer-implemented inventions on February 17, 2005.
