USCO Issues Rules on Reconsideration of Refusals to Register

The U.S. Copyright Office has published a final rule concerning procedures for reconsideration of refusal to register. With a few modifications, this regulation continues procedures adopted by the Copyright Office in 1995 that permit copyright registration applicants to request reconsideration of decisions to refuse registration. Significant modifications are that the reconsideration procedures are also made applicable to the Office's refusals to register mask works and vessel hull designs and the composition of the Review Board is changing. This rule also establishes procedures for mailing or hand delivering requests for reconsideration and related documents. Click here for further information.
