Infringing Buddha?

According to a September 15, 2004 article in Lanka Business Online, the Sri Lankan government's Buddha Sasana Ministry it is considering the use of intellectual property protection to safeguard the Buddha image from a "larger anti-Buddhist conspiracy."

How the Buddha’s image is to be copyrighted and who shall own the copyright is yet to be figured out.
