New Unfair Import Investigation Requests

On July 1, 2004, TALTECH Limited, TAL Apparel Limited, and The Apparel Group Limited filed a "Section 337" complaint at the U.S. International Trade Commission requesting an unfair import investigation involving "Certain Shirts with Pucker-Free Seams and Method of Producing Same." The proposed respondents are: Esquel Apparel, New York, NY and Esquel Enterprises Limited, Wanchai, Hong Kong. The complaint has been assigned Docket No. 337-2379 for indexing in the Commission's database.

On July 2, 2004, Seagate Technology, LLC filed an unfair import complaint requesting an investigation involving "Certain Disc Drivers, Components Thereof, and Products Containing Same." The proposed respondent named in this complaint is Cornice, Inc., of Longmont, Colorado. The complaint has been designated assigned Docket No. 337-2381 for indexing in the Commission's database.

On July 2, 2004, 180s, Inc. filed an unfair import complaint requesting an investigation involving "Certain Ear Protection Devices." The proposed respondents named in this complaint are Ningbo Electric and Consumer Goods Import & Export Corporation, China; Vollmacht Enterprise Co., Taiwan; March Trading, New York, NY; Alicia International Inc., Niles, Illinois; Hebron Imports, Chicago, Illinois; Ross Sales, Commack, NY; Value Drugs Rock, Inc., New York, NY; Song's Wholesale, Washington, DC,; and Wang Da, Inc., New York, NY. The complaint has been assigned Docket No. 337-2382 for indexing in the Commission's database.

On July 2, 2004, Gateway, Inc. filed an unfair import complaint requesting an investigation involving "Certain Personal Computers, Monitors and Components Thereof." The proposed respondent named in this complaint is Hewlett Packard, Palo Alto, California. The complaint has been and assigned Docket No. 337-2383 for indexing in the Commission's database.

The Commission now has 30-35 days from the dates indicated above in which to decide whether to institute the investigation. Upon institution, the proposed respondent will be served with the Complaint via postal mail and an Administrative Law Judge will schedule discovery,conduct a trail, and issue a written initial determination, usually within about 10 months. Due to the expedited nature of these proceedings, it is important to notify any interested parties as soon as possible.
