Malaysia and El Salvador Accede to the PCT
Malaysia (MY) deposited its instrument of accession to the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) on 16 May 2006 and on 16 August 2006 will become bound by the PCT. El Salvador (SV) deposited its instrument of accession PCT on 17 May 2006 and on 17 August 2006 will become bound by the PCT.
Consequently, any international application filed on or after 17 August 2006 will automatically include the designations of Malaysia and El Salvador. Also, because both countries will be bound by Chapter II of the PCT, they will automatically be elected in any demand filed in respect of an international application filed on or after 16 August 2006. Furthermore, nationals and residents of both countries will ne entitled to file international applications under the PCT.
