Licensing Foundation Day Links Innovation with Public Good

The 5th Annual Foundation Day, themed "Linking Innovation with Public Good," will feature a series of speakers from different market sectors, who will discuss how licensing bridges the gap between invention concepts and the introduction of new products to the marketplace where they benefit the public. This panel discussion is open to the public at no charge and will include
  • Lita Nelsen, Director of Technology Transfer at MIT
  • John Fraser, President, Association of University Technology Managers -- AUTM
  • Chris Foster, Deputy Secretary of Business & Economic Development, State of Maryland
  • Blake Paterson, Co-Founder and CEO of Alba Therapeutics

The discussion will be followed by a dinner featuring Dean Kamen, best known for inventing the Segway™ Human Transporter. Mr. Kamen will speak about how intellectual property licensing helped him launch this and many of his other 150 inventions, including numerous groundbreaking medical devices.
