More on China's I/P Policy
According to the Chinese state news agency, Xinhuanet on June 18, 2004, "Chinese websites, Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and other Internet-related organizations across the country are being invited to sign a self-discipline pact designed to protect online intellectual property rights as well as prevent cyber crime, the spread of harmful information and unhealthy competition. . . . The basic principles of self-discipline for the Internet industry are patriotism, observance of the law, fairness and trustworthiness, according to the pact. "
